SixD recently completed the detailed design phase of a piping retrofit project in Abu Dhabi, ensuring seamless integration without disrupting ongoing operations.

Accurate as-built data ensured that the retrofit design aligned perfectly with on-ground realities.

Capturing Reality to Inform Design Decisions

SixD began by conducting a high-accuracy laser scan of the existing plant. This enabled the team to capture current site conditions in detail, eliminating assumptions and providing a reliable digital reference for downstream design. Accurate as-built data ensured that the retrofit design aligned perfectly with on-ground realities.

SixD began by conducting a high-accuracy laser scan of the existing plant. Using the scanned data, the retrofit was fully modelled in 3D. Inputs from piping, structural, mechanical, and other engineering disciplines were integrated into a single coordinated model. This collaborative environment allowed design decisions to be evaluated holistically rather than in isolation.
